Week 3 of the Urbanathlon proved that I was able to make it through the holidays while still keeping focus on my diet and exercise routine. While traveling I was able to take my TRX along with me for the ride and carve out at least 30-45 minutes per day for my workouts. My TRX door mount came in quite handy while traveling to new plces. I was able to continue my TRX routines without skipping a beat. It was challenging but fun. I even was able to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving day parade while performing my 30 minute workout.
During my 3rd run of the week, I took a new route in a brand new location. While getting a little bit lost, I wandered into areas of my route that were so dark, I almost couldn’t see my feet below me. But it was fun, and interesting. And I had some comfort in knowing that if things got a little bit sketchy, I had my Krav skills as back up. Looking back though, I think in the future I will stick to more well-lit areas. No need to go looking for trouble when there is none.
My final day of week three was a travel day and with nearly 11 hours in the car, I decided that I would take the day off. In the three weeks of doing this urbanathlon, I have only taken 1 other day off so I felt that I deserved it. Week four is around the corner and nearing the halfway mark of my training. I feel as though I am faster, stronger, and have more endurance. While my weight isn’t exactly where I want it to be, I can certainly see results when I look in the mirror.
