Training with an Injury

So week 4 of my urbanathlon training started off very discouraging.  While doing my Monday morning run, I began feeling a discomfort in my lower leg that gradually turned into pain by mile 4.  Time limited me to only about 4 1/2 miles luckily that day so I gave it a little while to see if the pain would subside.  It did not.  It got worse.  Unfortunately I couldn’t tell if the pain was muscular or something more serious.  So...

Week 3 of the Urbanathlon proved that I was able to make it through the holidays while still keeping focus on my diet and exercise routine.  While traveling I was able to take my TRX along with me for the ride and carve out at least 30-45 minutes per day for my workouts.  My TRX door mount came in quite handy while traveling to new plces.  I was able to continue my TRX routines without skipping a beat.  It was challenging but fun.  I...

As we turn the corner toward the holidays, and look at Halloween in our rear view mirror, we have a chance to either allow the snowball effect to take hold of us or take control of our behavior before we let the holidays take control of us.  It would be very easy for me to fall into a pattern of bad eating and no exercise with the intention that “As of January 1st, I am on the wagon!”  However, a lot of damage can be done...
