As someone who’s been in the fitness industry for over 10 years, I have been through them all! The first thing I will say is that I am not getting paid to do these blogs and I am certainly not getting free products to promote these items. This is exclusively my own experience after some new recommendations. So believe me, I feel like I have tried them all: Carbon38, Lululemon, Fabletics, Athleta, Underarmour, Nike, Reebok, Born Tough, Aloyoga, Phat Buddha, the list goes on and on. I got to thinking, is there really something to these high end athletic clothes or are the less expensive knock-offs just as good, if not better? Over the next few weeks, I will be trying out and rating several different leggings (including some $10 from Amazon and Costco) and rating them on the following criteria:
Wearability/Comfort - We all have a favorite pair that we always wish was at the top of our laundry pile. How would these leggings score in the cozy department? Are they breathable? Moisture-wicking? How do the leggings hold up during different types of activities? Do they pass the squat test? Do they ride up or sag down? How does the material feel?
Crotch Sweat - Ugh, I hate when you finish and workout and look like you peed your pants. I am going to rate the leggings on their sweat resistance
Camel toe - I prefer not to show off the goods when I’m fully clothed! Do the leggings fit well in the crotchular area?
Durability - While I won’t be able to see if the leggings are able to stand the test of time in only a week or 2, I can usually tell pretty quickly if they can withstand the intense workouts I do on a regular basis
Style - I know this is far down on the list and should be higher up as it really is important. So do these leggings look good? Are they flattering? Do they show off your best assets?
Value - How does the price compare to other brands? Value is really important to me though. If it’s a little bit more expensive but it’s a better product, I will make a special note of this.
The first few leggings that I review have been recommendations from friends or social media followers. If you have a suggestion on a brand to review, send me an email or comment on the post. I would love to hear from you.
