Workout Leggings - Ratings of the first 3 Brands!

In my previous blog post, I talked about trying new workout leggings. I have been wearing the same leggings for about 3-5 years and as styles, brands, and fits change over the years, I decided to branch out and try some new styles of leggings. I have rated these leggings on 6 different categories: Wearability/style, camel toe, crotch sweat, durability, style, and value!

Some of these leggings were suggested from friends, some were brands I am familiar with, and some I just purchased on a whim. Let me know what you think and comment with your suggestions on your favorite leggings to work out in.

Stay tuned each week as I review and rate more brands and styles.

Sweaty Betty Storm Power Shine High-Waisted 7/8 Workout Leggings - OVERALL SCORE D

  1. Wearability/Comfort - A-

    • These leggings were super comfortable and they were nice and snug in a way that didn’t feel restrictive but held everything in

  2. Crotch Sweat - A

    • No crotch sweat marks and I was working out in 90 degree heat outside

  3. Camel toe - A

    • Camel toe was non-existent. It was nice that they were snug but also kept enough space between fabric and skin in the right place

  4. Durability - F

    • This is where things went terribly wrong (see photo above). I was so upset to look down and see the seam on the side completely open. I didn’t have a spare pair so I had to run to target to get something to cover myself. Very disappointing.

  5. Style - B

    • There wasn’t anything exceptional about the style but they were flattering

  6. Value - B

    • I’m torn on the rating for this as these leggings were on a steep clearance for $40 but normal pricing is $100 and after the seam breakage, I can’t imagine spending that much on them

Lululemon Align High Rise Crop 23” - Overall Score B

  1. Wearability/Comfort - A+

    • The material on these leggings is unbelievably soft like butter. I find myself wanting to wear them around more than just working out. They are a great legging for just lounging around.

  2. Crotch Sweat - D

    • I bought two pairs of these; one was black camo and the other was olive green. The crotch sweat on the black was nearly undetectable but the crotch sweat was so bad on the olive green that I had to return them. If you are going to sweat in these, I recommend getting a very dark color.

  3. Camel toe - A

    • These leggings aren’t super tight so they don’t “hold everything in” but they do not strangle the lady parts so that’s nice.

  4. Durability - B

    • I’m giving this a solid B because I really do not know how they are going to hold up. The material is so unbelievably soft that I can’t imagine it will hold up for very long. But maybe they will surprise me.

  5. Style - C

    • Again, nothing super exciting here. I really liked the feel of these but the olive green wasn’t very flattering and my cellulite was visible through the material…no one wants that!

  6. Value - D

    • I am a huge Lululemon fan as most of their workout gear is durable and well made. However, the price of the leggings is some of the higher price points you will see on athletic wear. I wouldn’t pay full price for these. Wait for them to go on sale.

Amazon Toreel Leggings with Pockets - Overall Score C

  1. Wearability/Comfort - C

    • Meh. These leggings were a little too thick for my comfort. I took a hot yoga class in these and it was a HUGE mistake. I could see these being popular for cooler weather and I kept them to try them again in the winter. These are NOT a warm weather legging. They did stay up and didn’t sag so that was positive.

  2. Crotch Sweat - A

    • No sign of crotch sweat at all.

  3. Camel toe - B

    • Walking around, no camel toe; however, I gave this one a B because sometimes in certain positions, it rode up a little bit.

  4. Durability - B

    • No telling so I am going to give this a B. I have a feeling they probably will last longer than I want them to.

  5. Style - C

    • Not particularly flattering but not unflattering. The pockets are always great to hold your phone but they are a little frumpy looking.

  6. Value - A

    • These bad boys are on sale for $10 right now on Amazon. You can’t go wrong with trying them out.
