Coregasm? Taboo but True!

This topic is a tough one to talk about. It’s embarrassing, personal, and uncomfortable. So what is a coregasm?

Coregasm Defined:

Also called an Exercise-Induced Orgasm (EIO), this can be defined as reaching an orgasm as the result of certain exercises that engage both the abdominals and the pelvic floor. There are many exercises that can achieve this phenomenon most notably, hanging leg lifts, chin ups, or hamstring curls but can be a wide variety.

Who can have a coregasm?

Coregasms can happen to both men and women but are much more common in women. There’s a lot of disagreement on why this may occur but it is almost exclusively physiological, usually happening without the accompaniment of sexual thoughts. For men, ejaculation can happen during the coregasm even without an erection. WHAT?!?! Mind blown!

Why does it happen?

There’s not a consensus on why this happens although some believe that it is a result of a lack of strength in certain pelvic floor muscles causing muscular fatigue during certain exercises. For men, it is usually related to prostate stimulation and women usually pelvic floor stimulation.

What to do if you experience one?

Doing some investigation into this phenomenon, it emerged that there are a lot of people who actually want this to happen. Most, though, are trying to avoid it. If you feel a coregasm coming on and you don’t want it to happen, simply stop doing the exercise that is inducing the sensation. It should subside. For those who want to experience this feeling, focus on exercise that engage the pelvic floor much like the sensation of doing a Kegel’s exercise.

What exercises can cause a Coregasm?

The list is almost too long as it can be literally ANY exercise if it’s intense enough. However, there are some exercises that are most notably associated with achieving a coregasm including:

  • Hanging leg lifts

  • Lower abdominal crunch or leg lift

  • Sit ups

  • Knee tucks

  • Plank

  • Hip Thrust

  • Hamstring curls

  • Pull ups or chin ups

  • Flutter kicks or hollow holds

  • Rope or pole climbs

  • Several yoga poses

Is there a benefit?

Increasing the rate and frequency of orgasm can improve sexual function overall. If you are consistently working out and exercising, particularly improving the strength in your abdominals and pelvic floor, it will improve sexual function and intensify sexual pleasure. The bottom line is, even though it might be embarrassing, it’s not a bad or negative thing. Embrace it!
