Wellness Retreats - Why You Should Join?

A group activity and ice breaker is a great way to get to know each other.

A group activity and ice breaker is a great way to get to know each other.

When I first started my journey into creating a transformational wellness retreat, I mostly thought about what I would want as a participant in a weekend getaway. The top three things I wanted was fun, good food, and meeting new people.

First and foremost, the trip has to be FUN! There has to be something unique about the fun that you might not get in the everyday back at home. The fun can come in the form of nature walks, games, outings, and even dance parties. In my first retreat, I was still learning (and thank you to everyone who trusted me with a weekend with my limited experience in running one). We had a TON of fun! The weather (and the location) limited us on being able to do any outings but that was completely fine! We had so much fun just staying within the walls and learning about ourselves and each other.

A healthy plant-based breakfast!

Second, we need to eat good food! I was fortunate in my first retreat to link up with some traveling caterers who prepared us plant-based, fresh, locally harvested food. My goal is always to support the local economy so I have linked up with vendors in each location to provide the best food for each experience. In May, I am excited to offer a fresh charcuterie board with a local vendor, meals from an amazing local brewery, and lunches from a small local caterer. I am able to accommodate any nutritional needs as well as dietary restrictions and allergies. Everyone’s needs are different when it comes to food so I always try to give as many options as I can. One thing is for sure, you will never be hungry on one of my trips!

Third, I love meeting new people. If meeting new people isn’t your thing, that’s okay too. I often have people book retreats with friends or family members giving them the opportunity to bond and get closer with someone they already know. Every person on my retreats has a unique and interesting story, journey, and perspective. I love that.
